Same Old Sky | Chapter Sixteen

The elf's kind smile slowly faded. "Erulastial, you must come now."

Trisha teared up, along with me and Ali. We all hugged for a moment, then I stepped to the elf. "I'm ready now," I whispered, and we disappeared.

I felt as though I was swimming through the aura that had appeared in my room earlier, and it was wonderful.

Soon we materialized in a forest covered with silver trunked trees with an intricate platform incircling all of them and several things on the ground as well, bows and arrows, horses, young elves dueling with sticks.

I sighed in contentment. This was where I belonged.

A little girl ran to me and placed a circlet of silvery flowers on my hair, giggling, then ran off.

The tall elf spoke once more : "My name is Eruraviel. I will show you to your chambers."

And so she did, to my magnificent, beautiful chambers looking at the sky and a field of wildflowers.

I put down my backpack on the simple wooden bed and investigated the trunk at the foot of it.

In the trunk were several books about elvish customs, and very much paper, quills, and ink.

Immedietly I pulled out paper, a quill and ink and knelt at the trunk, writing a brief letter to Trisha while the dove, whose name I had not decided on yet.

Dear Trisha,

I am now with the elves. My window over looks a field of wildflowers and a magnificent sky. I wish you could be here. I must go,I have much to learn.
